This is the last week of work for me before summer vacation,
unlike Mel & Co who have already started.
I kind of feel like I have been on vacation with them,
but the reality of the work week will soon be upon me!

Sad Saturday!

Steve, Paul and the kids just left for Chitina.

The kings are already running...we cannot wait, fresh fish coming soon. I already miss 'em and they just left...I cried when they pulled out. Paul and Steve have walkie talkies and I can get them on Paul's cell, so I am not totally out of the loop. I get to go with Steve and Marina next week while Hunter is in Disneyland with dad. The rest of the weekend ??? I will blog again later!

Almost Friday!

We picked up Jr. at the airport then sported off to a night of ROCK STAR bowling...Manderzzzz & Dill Pickle both got up and played their little hearts out, very old Rock n Roll. The last game was Brats vs. Babes, the babes won! It was also free because Melly bowled 2 colored front pin strikes! Finally some vacation fun for the kids, Hunter & Marina will be sooo jealous... Time for bed, I must get up at 3:30 am with my handsome husband! ~ Heth

Melly and family are here visiting until Monday, the longest they have ever stayed with us...six whole days! Steve and the kids leave on Saturday to Chitina for the season opener of Copper River salmon...bring on the KINGS!

One more week at work and I am off for the summer, yippee! Hopefully Melly can help me set up an eBay store to sell stuff and make money to pay for the gas we will need to play...

Almost the weekend...I'm trying to be optimistic.
It is unbelievable how much is going on already...and summer has not even started. I have short days at work the rest of the week, thank goodness, or I couldn't get it all done.
We hope to get through the first tunnel to Whittier on Saturday morning. Shrimping for Memorial Day, yippee! Steve starts three weeks of vacation the next weekend. He will go to Chitina with the kids while I work my last week. I also signed up for a summer class...;-) I am out of my mind! I really do need a mental health break.

Another beautiful sunny day in Anchortown!

Happy Thursday! Our day started early picking up Melly at the airport. HD went to KB's then we went to Cafe Europa for a quick bite. Note to self, never use bottled salsa...especially on a breakfast burrito! UAA shut down for staff development day today, it was very fun! SB just went to pick up the Bayliner, $850 dollars later, UGH! I had to check emails and upload my pics...Happy trails, the weekend is almost here! Heth

Our last two days...before school!

Happy hump day! We left for school early and played baseball with my nephew, a lot of fun! We hardly see him or his mom these days, maybe we will more this summer.
It is a beautiful day and I am done with work work. I am off soon to pick up Hunter and go shopping. Hope all is well, Heth

Chitina fishwheel 5/09

Happy Tuesday.
Steve took a couple of pix yesterday in Chitina while working on the fishwheel...very hard work! They brought back the catch baskets to be welded back into shape. We do not want any fish escaping...especially kings!
Hunter is going hiking in Eagle River today with the upper classes. An all day field trip! I was off most of yesterday, so I have to go to work. ;-) I still love work and it is coming to an end very soon. Happy trails, Heth
