Our family...

then, now, & to come...

Hunter had his first weekend long Boy Scout trip to the Eklutna Camporee on Elmendorf! He sure came home tired, must have been a lot of work out there in the woods. Hunter got good color on his skin, goes nice with the new haircut Steve got 'em.

Brandon's totally edible cake, even the trees.

Brandon made this ring in Mr. Walsh' welding class at KCC. Sadly, I'm stuck with an old drum from our in-op dryer as a fire ring. Maybe someday we'll get Hunter or Steve into welding and they can make us some cool Alaskana stuff.

After spending Saturday prepping my truck, Steve and I brought home the new Bayliner...it's so big compared to our lil' Trophy! I cleaned her up on the inside and made it ours! So nice to have a little more space. When the kids are finally off on their own, we'll invest in a 28' aluminum boat. That will be retirement time...yehoo!

After giving it a good cleaning.

My beautiful bleeding heart!

Summer adventures r coming.
Happy trails from our home to yours!

Life in the Brekke house...

Fun with melly for a week!

The Native Youth Olympics was very interesting. This was my first time...it was neat to find out the reasons for the different competitions. Dylan took 5th place as a rookie freshmen, woo hoo!

Went to a retirement party Friday night & got lots of hugs from all the Alaska babes! It was great fun to see everyone, and have toddies. ;-) This was after going to the museum with the kids, late nights are us! Actually, it wasn't that late, but by our standards, it was way past bedtime.

The Community & Technical College picnic!

Our school of fish...
sadly, I'm the only fish left!
Should be an interesting new fiscal year...

Lots to do...Encampment is coming quick. Marina will finally be able to go this year! It looks like almost all of our troop will be there. Girl Scouts is celebrating 100 years and the event is going to be a lot of fun. Steve is going to put the Bayliner up for sale this weekend while I'm purging a lot of the things from around the house. It will feel so good to finally have more usable space. Blending two families has overloaded this ol' house with "way too much". There will be a lot of happy people when this stuff finally makes it out of here and gets where it needs to go.

The sun is shining and life is good. I'm hoping for a rejuvenating weekend. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms! Here's to not cooking and eating a really yummy dinner. Take care, Heather

Our family...

then, now & next...

Clams are done for the year, 18 meals worth! $300 for gas hurt, but that's nothing compared to what the boat trips will be. Getting ready to sell the Trophy & bring home the Cierra this weekend. The new boat came with an even bigger gas tank...for further range to chase lingcod!

Fishwheel is going in soon too! Boys are all going to Chitina for a day and getting 'er done! yehoo for fresh sake sashimi! mmm ;-) Summer is going to be here before you know it...Tim McGraw & the Band Perry for my birthday, most excellent present ever. ;-)

Going to start seeds for the garden next week. Logistics has to be worked out since we added the potatoes. The one's we planted by the raspberries last year were huge, they should be even better in the full sun this year.

Better get off the computer and get to work...gotta go clean the house, the motorhome, the boat, and some new (unplanned) garbage...life is short, and we're going to make the most of it. We pray for peace for all people.

Happy Easter
...thanks be to God!

Another day in paradise!

In the kid's ward at Providence

Child Abuse Prevention Month
So many children in need
our prayers go out to them.

Wow, Marina was home for a week with the flu and the day she goes back to school, Hunter is admitted to Providence for a burst appendix. He has been suffering with this for a year and we didn't even know...his appendix burst three or four days before we knew that too. The pain from the peritonitis was what got us to the hospital.

1st step, CT scan with barium and iodine...

His tree was full of bags and boxes.

Girl Scouts Lock In at the Alaska Club
9 p.m. Saturday - 5 a.m. Sunday

Hunter's 11th birthday!

His birthday, the day he got to eat jello,
his eyes were bigger than his tummy.

Pet therapy for the kids.

Hunter got to hang with Snickers.
They treat kids awesome at Prov.

Wouldn't it be nice if
everyone cared about the children.

Will post again soon.
The end!

Bear Tooth with hubby!

Can anyone say IPA?
Or was that Amber?
Alright, how about both!

Anytime I can buy advance tickets for a booth at Bear Tooth it is so worth it. Love love love showing up at the last minute and walking in. Cannot wait for the next good movie to show so we can do it again. Nice to be able to do things like this every so often.

Summer's coming fast...hoping for a long, sunny, fun summer!
Happy trails, where ever they might lead...heth ;-)

Get er done!

Science fair projects are us!

Mt. McKinley at sunrise!

2nd 1/2 of science fair project!

That's supposed to be a mustache.
Mario, where are you?

getting ready to give the kids the boot!
the outdoors are calling...

Swimming at UAA later today after Steve comes home from work. He mentioned wishing he could come with us when I told him we were going, so we're going to wait and go with him. Everyone at the pool will need to bring shades for the pasty white Brekke& Dely family, ha! Fun! Church in the morning as a family, then Marina leaves for a week to be with her mom. I'm surprising Hunter and Steve with tickets to Bear Tooth tomorrow night, a booth to watch Narnia in 3D and have yummers. LOVE Bear Tooth, can anyone say IPA? Going to be a great spring break. Happy trails, wherever they may lead! Heth & Co.
